I&#039;m not sure if this was a really smart thing for Tor to do, because let&#039;s face it, it still hurts even when you&#039;re let down &quot;easy&quot;.  Me, I&#039;m having one of those slow years in which most of my work submitted is rejected; I think my ratio&#039;s 20-23 or so rejection-wise.  Nope, not a good one!

My best guess is the people there are trying to show authors &quot;you need to have a thick skin to have this career&quot;... well, yes that&#039;s true, but sensitivity is also very much required to be a good artist of any kind:)
